The first Mitch Albom book I read, and I was hooked! His way of writing is so simple yet incredible, I felt so drawn to it。 100% recommend it to anyone new to reading or who hasn't read in a long time, as it's a short yet amazing book:) The first Mitch Albom book I read, and I was hooked! Beautiful book。 Heartfelt and Thought provoking。 Story & Views of a simple loving professor are articulated by a former student to form one last thesis before ALS wins against Morrie。 You'll witness a slow but revealing journey into Morrie's thoughts。 It almost feels he's right there。 Thank you Mitch for bringing this Masterpiece to the world!“Love wins, love always wins。” Beautiful book。 Heartfelt and Thought provoking。 Story & Views of a simple loving professor are articulated by a former student to form one last thesis before ALS wins against Morrie。 You'll witness a slow but revealing journey into Morrie's thoughts。 It almost feels he's right there。 Thank you Mitch for bringing this Masterpiece to the world!“Love wins, love always wins。” 。。。more

Not a happy story but an important one。 "the truth is, part of me is every age。 Im a three-years-ago, Im a five-year-old, Im a thirty-seven-year-old, I'm a fifty-year-old。 Ive been through all of them, and I know what's its like。 I delight in being a child when it's appropriate to be child。 I delight in being in being a wise old man when it's appropriate to be wise old man。" It give great advice and a mustn't read for everyone。m Not a happy story but an important one。 "the truth is, part of me is every age。 Im a three-years-ago, Im a five-year-old, Im a thirty-seven-year-old, I'm a fifty-year-old。 Ive been through all of them, and I know what's its like。 I delight in being a child when it's appropriate to be child。 I delight in being in being a wise old man when it's appropriate to be wise old man。" It give great advice and a mustn't read for everyone。m 。。。more

Heartfelt story about sad circumstances that life has to offer。 Felt really touched, balled my eyes out at the end, but feel empowered about living life to the fullest。

A humbling read about a loving friendship between a professor and his student and a journey through ALS。 An easy, quick read with a lot of life lessons and heart wrenching moments throughout。 I'm glad a fellow memoir book lover at a local used bookstore suggested it to me。 A humbling read about a loving friendship between a professor and his student and a journey through ALS。 An easy, quick read with a lot of life lessons and heart wrenching moments throughout。 I'm glad a fellow memoir book lover at a local used bookstore suggested it to me。 。。。more

Would definitely recommend, it made me cry, laugh and think even with some of the obvious suggestions to life。

A well written story accounting the many aphorisms created by Morrie in his final months。 It offers a substantial amount of notes that the everyday person could take in greater consideration, provides an insight on the acceptance of death and what I believe to be at its core; the importance of generosity。 However, I find that as a book which could be labelled as a “self help book” there isn’t anything profoundly groundbreaking in here。 “Love triumphs all”, “forgive yourself”… and so on, all comm A well written story accounting the many aphorisms created by Morrie in his final months。 It offers a substantial amount of notes that the everyday person could take in greater consideration, provides an insight on the acceptance of death and what I believe to be at its core; the importance of generosity。 However, I find that as a book which could be labelled as a “self help book” there isn’t anything profoundly groundbreaking in here。 “Love triumphs all”, “forgive yourself”… and so on, all common themes not unique to this story。 This said, I did find myself stopping between lines and reflecting upon some of Morris’s wisdom, and for that I believe this was a worthwhile book。 。。。more

An interesting ( almost light-hearted?! ) perspective on death and living life to the fullest。

it’s funny, when i came to write the review i figured almost no one would have marked this less than 5 stars, but a lot of people did。 the thing i noticed in those reviews was about how simple and concise and basic the book was - but for me, that’s what made me want to give it 5 stars。 like yea, the things he was saying weren’t the most mind-boggling, but they’re truths of life that i think the world would do better to internalize and really live by。 also was just genuinely so nice to read about it’s funny, when i came to write the review i figured almost no one would have marked this less than 5 stars, but a lot of people did。 the thing i noticed in those reviews was about how simple and concise and basic the book was - but for me, that’s what made me want to give it 5 stars。 like yea, the things he was saying weren’t the most mind-boggling, but they’re truths of life that i think the world would do better to internalize and really live by。 also was just genuinely so nice to read about a person that i think i’d like to emulate when it comes to be my time to go。 so no, this wasn’t a revelatory read, but it did make me feel good to know there are people out there who value these ways of living and who wanted to spread that message out to the world 。。。more

As a person who's recently begun craving the advice of my elders, this book absolutely spoke to me。 I couldn't get enough and wished Mitch had more Tuesdays with Morrie so that I could have learned more from him。 My only hesitation with the book was that I began to feel Mitch was being over-dramatic in his take on Morrie's words, making them too movie-like。 However, a wonderful inclusion to the 25th Anniversary audiobook are some of the interviews, and no, that is exactly how Morrie spoke。 Thus, As a person who's recently begun craving the advice of my elders, this book absolutely spoke to me。 I couldn't get enough and wished Mitch had more Tuesdays with Morrie so that I could have learned more from him。 My only hesitation with the book was that I began to feel Mitch was being over-dramatic in his take on Morrie's words, making them too movie-like。 However, a wonderful inclusion to the 25th Anniversary audiobook are some of the interviews, and no, that is exactly how Morrie spoke。 Thus, the book earned its 5 stars。 Highly recommended。 。。。more

It covers family, love, aging and the inevitability of death。 Considering it’s a story of a man’s death, it is amazingly uplifting and inspiring。 I don’t think anyone can read this book and not feel a little more grateful for their lives and the people in it。 I gave it 5 stars, not just because I loved it and connected with it, but because I truly think everyone should read this book。 Even if it only ends up being a reminder for you of everything you should be thankful for。 Also, I preferred it to The Five People You Meet in Heaven, which says a lot。 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★#books #bookclub #whatalexreads_ #bibliophile #reading #booktok #bookreview #bookphotography #readmorebooks #bookstagram #goodreads #review #bookish #bookcommunity #bookclub #bookstagramfollowtrain 。。。more

Well written。

I know this book gets a lot of slack for its cliches and truisms — but I think that’s soothing in a way。 If you want to be like Morrie, a transmitter and magnet of love and joy, it is all that simple and uncomplicated。 We complicate it and fall short not because we don’t know what or how to be, but because it’s easier to commit yourself to the distractions or the shadows of others voices。 A book doesn’t always need to invent something to be valuable, reminders are pretty nice too。

A classic, worth re-reading。

This was nice and tender, I really rate the heart that went into this project between a student and teacher。 There's not much of a plot to it, you have to fill in the blanks yourself。 It's a pocket book of practical philosophy, ultimately, and there were some sentences in her which were so well put together that I had to keep a list of them all。 It was actually quite inspiring。 That being said, it's not what I usually read, and will probably have more of an impact on other people。 Also, the topi This was nice and tender, I really rate the heart that went into this project between a student and teacher。 There's not much of a plot to it, you have to fill in the blanks yourself。 It's a pocket book of practical philosophy, ultimately, and there were some sentences in her which were so well put together that I had to keep a list of them all。 It was actually quite inspiring。 That being said, it's not what I usually read, and will probably have more of an impact on other people。 Also, the topics up for discussion in this book were quite broad and unspecific。 I'll have to check out Albom's other stuff as well to see if he gets more specific with his teachings。 。。。more
